The state of emergency that BC has been under for a record-breaking 16 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been finally lifted. Our province has moved into Step 3 of its Restart Plan and as a result, restaurants, gyms, recreation centres, churches, and other facilities are now able to gather more people together without crippling the healthcare system. We have made sacrifices throughout these many months in order to fulfill the commandment to love our neighbours, but we have always striven to be faithful to gather, teach, evangelize and carry on the work of ministry that God has entrusted to us even in the midst of a pandemic that has radically changed the way we are used to living and doing ministry.
After reviewing the recent changes to public health orders and considering our church’s circumstances, our leadership team is excited to call our church family to gather and worship the Lord together in-person on Sunday mornings! We will sing the Word, preach the Word, pray the Word, and speak the Word to each other. We want to celebrate our risen Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and to enjoy the company of brothers and sisters in Christ who we will spend all of eternity with!
Now, given that all of us are at different places in our lives with regards to the pandemic, we have decided to set up our facility so as to accommodate as many as possible. The sanctuary will be restored to full capacity with 100+ chairs and will be a mask recommended zone. The Fellowship Hall will have a live feed of the sanctuary and will be a mask mandatory zone with chairs more spaced out to allow for physical distancing. Registering to attend services is no longer necessary, but everyone should do a health check prior to coming and attend only if they are well. For those who are unable to attend in-person, our livestream will continue to be available. I know that a number of you will be excited to be hugging and shaking hands right away but others may not be. Please be respectful and gracious towards those around you given that everyone’s circumstances are different.
